SONYC STRIDE 



FREE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

Designed to promote student's growth into successful, well-rounded individuals, SONYC STRIDE encourages youth in grades 6-8 to think critically, exercise independent decision-making, and develop healthy social interactions with their peers. SONYC STRIDE's holistic and comprehensive approach offers the right balance of academics, arts and leadership, sports and recreation. 

ACADEMICS: Scholar Zone

  • Homework Help
  • Individualized Support

SPORTS AND FITNESS: Basketball, Swim Instruction and more

  • Basketball in our full-size gym
  • Swim instruction in our indoor pool
  • Other sports, as requested by students—including volleyball and badminton

ARTS 

  • Visual Arts
  • Creative Arts (theatre, dance, etc)
  • Technology club

RECREATION:

  • Indoor and Outdoor Games
  • BookUP Literature Club
  • Photography
  • Field Trips and Special Events

COMMUNITY:  

  • Projects to help the community
  • Leadership activities

ELIGIBILITY
Youth in grades 6-8. Middle School participants must attend the program at least three days a week. Parental involvement is a critical element to the enrollment process and success of the STRIDE program.


    
 
Academic Year: Monday through Friday, 3:00 - 6:00pm.
 
   
Enrollment

To register all parents/guardians need to attend an orientation. At orientation we will do a program overview, answer any questions, and complete paperwork . Please RSVP for enrollment session by calling 212-475-5008 or replying to this email. If you would like to register your child but are unavailable to attend one of the sessions below, please call 212-475-5008.

If you are unable to download and print the enrollment form, please stop by University Settlement's front desk at the Houston Street Center or call 212-475-5008 to request to have forms mailed to your residence.
