STRIDE Youth Service utilizes a holistic approach incorporating academics, sports and fitness, arts, leadership and recreation offering a comprehensive after-school program for youth in grades 6-11 that also operates a Summer Day Camp for grades 3-8 and a Career Camp for high school students. In addition, STRIDE has newly launched a comprehensive PSAT prep course, Rock the PSAT providing academic PSAT test prep work in Math, English and Writing as well as test taking strategies and relaxation techniques.
Make it a Houston Street Center Summer! At STRIDE Summer Camp, campers will enjoy our on-site pool and gym, and also participate in regular field trips, special events, clubs, arts, math & writing, leadership and more.

In STRIDE Career Camp for High School Students, young leaders STRIDE towards their future! STRIDE Career Camp offers themed field trips, career development, writing skills, volunteering, swimming and more! With five themed weeks: Law, Human Services, Media & Technology, Health Industry, Visual & Creative Arts, participants will explore New York City and gain valuable career skills. STRIDE Career Camp gives young leaders the opportunity to develop their interests, passions, talents and future goals.

too soon to be preparing for college. STRIDE Rock the PSAT course will academic PSAT prep work in Math, English and Writing as well as test taking strategies and relaxation techniques. The PSATs are not just a great way to prepare for the SATs but also help determine National Merit Scholarships.

Designed to promote student's growth into successful, well-rounded individuals, STRIDE encourages youth in grades 6-11 to think critically, exercise independent decision-making, and develop healthy social interactions with their peers. STRIDE's holistic and comprehensive approach offers the right balance of academics, arts and leadership, sports and recreation.
Academics: Scholar Zone provides one-on-one and group tutoring with university-level students, as well as test-prep curriculum, including materials specifically designed for 8th grade testing and specialized high school exams. Our staff is in regular communication with school administrators regarding student evaluation and progress.
Sports and Fitness includes twice-a-week team basketball instruction and
practice in our gym, twice-a-week swim instruction in our competition-sized swimming pool, and competitive tournaments and special events.
Arts and Leadership In The iDEA Lab students work collaboratively on a variety of creative projects to learn teamwork and hone decision-making, problem-solving and leadership skills. This qualifies for a community service credit.
Recreation includes a diverse range of special events and clubs for young people to engage in, including:Boxing Club, Baking Club, BookUp, Chess Club, Dance Club, Travel Club, Earth/Science Club and more.
Community:Teens in grades 9 to 11 can participate in leadership activities aimed toward preparation for the future, including leadership workshops, community-service projects, swimming and basketball, recreation, career exploration and academic support.
Youth in grades 6 - 11. Middle School participants must attend the program at least three days a week. High School participants must attend the program at least two days a week. Parental involvement is a critical element to the enrollment process and success of the STRIDE program.
Academic Year: Monday through Friday, 3:30 - 5:30pm. STRIDE does not operate during school vacations.
